Five years ago, I had four kids, ages 8, 6, 3, and 1. We lived in Okinawa, Japan while my husband served in the U.S. Air Force. A sweet friend of mine and I were talking about kids one day and she asked, “Have you ever thought about starting a blog?” My response: “No way! How would I ever have time for that? That is something I will never do.”
Well, fast forward several years, and if you’re like me, your life is now a refection of all the things you said you’d never do! I was never going to get married to anyone in the military, have kids, definitely never drive a minivan or homeschool, or start a blog or a business of my own.
I’m so glad I didn’t know much about what I really wanted when I was younger.
So after several different friends encouraging me to dive in, and finally developing a platform of my own … to help moms become more intentional with their lives … here I am.
Five years ago was not the right time for me to start this blog. I still had a long journey of self-discovery yet to take. But in the past five years, along with adding our fifth child to complete our family and coming home to America, I have also begun to understand what it means to feel complete as a mom, wife, and woman. I’m learning a whole lot about intention and living with authenticity. I am passionate about becoming the woman I have been designed by God to be.
I’m so excited to learn and grow with you, friend, and for all the adventures we will have together. I hope you’ll come here often to feel motivated and inspired. Check out my about page to learn more about me and why I created this website (it was a STRUGGLE, let me just tell you!), tell your friends, and let me know in the comments below what things you said you’d never do but are currently pursuing! I want to cheer you on!
